Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible, applicants must be: 1) a full-time student, 2) enrolled (either Student, Parents, or Grandparents) in a federally-recognized tribe, 3) in good academic standing (2.0 or above for undergraduates & 3.0 or above for graduate students) and 4) submit two letters of reference (one academic and one personal). Priority consideration will be given to Nebraska residents attending institutions of higher education in state. Second priority will be given to Nebraska residents attending institutions of higher education out of state. Other factors that will be considered in the selection process include 1. Financial need, 2. Involvement in Native American culture, and 3. Involvement in volunteer/extra-curricular activities.
Awards Available: The number and amount of scholarship awards varies each year based on availability of funds. Typically awards are made each academic year ranging from $500 - $1000 each. Awardees will be notified prior to the Lincoln Indian Center’s Powwow on August 16, 2018.
